Boat Report |
In the boats, the weather has been horrible which has prevented anglers from getting out. Those that have, have seen cod caught in greater numbers with several low doubles also showing. Other bigger fish have also been lost. The improved quality of fish is a good sign.
Tony Burmans weekly report on the features page gives more
information and makes interesting reading.

Onshore Report |
On the Yorkshire Coast the fishing has been alot better. Flounder, whiting and cod are now the main species being caught, with Withernsea providing the best sport. The top bait was worm and squid or crab also took account for a good number of fish. Mark at A&D Hedon which was Hedon Bait and Tackle (01482 891479 open all week) is always up to speed on the information stakes. The south of the Humber the fishing has been better, with small fish being the main quarry in most areas. East Halton is producing plenty of small fish with odd cod starting to show. Humberstone Creek has fished OK with a few fish being caught around the pound mark. Cleethorpes Promenade is also fishing better for flatties and whiting. Lots of fish are in this area, it's a case of finding the bit bigger ones. On the Lincolnshire coast it has been better Whiting beginning to show in this area now, as well as a few Dabs. Fresh peeler is scoring well. The best bet for consistently good
bait is Mark at A&D Hedon formerly Hedon Angling Centre(01482
891479) and still has an excellent range of sea bait and
mention you saw it here.
If your on the south side ring Ron at
Sparkes Bros Grimsby who also has some excellent bait in at the moment,
but ring him to book some, it's going fast! (01472 342613).
Ultimate Angling is also stocking sea bait now. Give them a ring on 01472
